School of Law To Represent UCU at the IHL Moot Court Competitions

The School of Law, Uganda Christian University (UCU) is privileged to have been selected to participate in the prestigious Uganda International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Moot Court Competition, an event organized by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The Moot will take place from Tuesday 29th August 2023 for the preliminary rounds and on the 30 August 2023 for the final rounds. These rounds will take place at Hotel Africana.

The competition features four distinguished teams that have earned their place through exceptional efforts. The selection of the teams was based on the outstanding quality of their Memorials, showcasing their dedication to legal excellence and deep understanding of humanitarian law. The other participating universities and teams include Kampala International University (KIU), Cavendish University and Nkumba University.

Representing UCU are three exceptional rising third-year Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) students, Mr. Muwanguzi Adrian, and Ms. Kamushabe Druscilla and Mr. Muzira Ryan who have successfully completed their second year of the LL.B program and have consistently demonstrated a profound commitment to legal education and advocacy.

All the students representing the university hail from UCU Kampala Campus and are progressing through their academic journey with great zeal. They have already accomplished two years of the LLB program and will be starting their third year in September 2023.

We are incredibly proud of these students as they contribute positively to the discourse on international humanitarian law and honour the university.
