On 24 September 2025, students from the Uganda Christian University (UCU) School of Law won the East African Unwanted Witness Privacy Moot Court Competition. They emerged as the best overall team and also received the Best Applicant Memorial award at the East African Final Round.. The team won a prize of USD 1,500 and a fully funded trip to attend the Privacy Symposium Africa. (PSA), to be held in Lagos, Nigeria 26-28 November 2025.
Our team was represented by:
- Oralist: Ajambo Sandra (LLB3, Lead Counsel)
- Oralist: Heather Stacy Kutamba (LLB3)
They were ably supported by Eunice Nantongo Wangabira (LLB3) and Diana Nassuna (LLB3) as researchers. UCU emerged victorious after defeating Strathmore University in the final round.

The Grande Finale was presided over by Justice Duncan Gaswaga of the African Court on Human and People’s rights, judges from the East African Court of Justice.
