Mission, Vision & Objectives

The mission of the School of law

To train morally upright students that are well grounded in the law

The vision

A Law school that prepares students for a global outlook through a market-oriented     law teaching curriculum

Objectives of the School of Law

In line with the University Strategic Plan (2021-2023), UCU School of Law aims to achieve the following objectives:

 

Identity: Enhance the University’s identity as an authentic Christian institution, founded by the Church of Uganda (Anglican), and a Centre of Excellence which is recognised nationally and internationally.

Governance and Leadership: Provide accountable leadership that ensures effective, efficient, and sustainable accomplishment of the university’s mission.

Teaching and Learning: Offer high-quality education with a diverse yet integrated curriculum with programmes that are professionally sound, academically rigorous, morally sound, and relevant to society.

Targeted Research: Promote a rigorous, focused research that leads to improved understanding Gas well as innovations to solve specific challenges in Uganda and abroad.

UCU E-Campus: Scale up the “UCU E-Campus” Vision: A Digitised, Paperless University.

Other Income Streams: Invest in income generating projects to grow other streams of income 

          that will make UCU financially self-sustaining.

Service to The Community: Support local communities, the surrounding region, and the 

          church in promoting and achieving holistic development.

Student Recruitment, Development and Retention: Ensure a diverse array of students who

          are given a holistic education at the university.

Staffing: Attract, recruit, and retain a staff noted for excellence in teaching, research, and

          praxis in their respective academic and administrative disciplines.

Great Campuses: Develop the physical infrastructure of each campus to meet the education,

         information, technology, and administrative needs and standards while preserving campus’ history and beauty.
