The School of Law of Uganda of Christian University (UCU) is competing in Nakuru, Kenya, in the 22nd Edition of the prestigious John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition for the year 2023/2024. The moot takes place annually, and it marks 20 years this year.
The John H. Jackson Moot Court Competition is an international moot court competition that takes place across 6 different continents allowing students from around the world to compete before experts in international trade law.
Different rounds are currently taking place simultaneously across Africa, Europe, the Americas and Asia (in India, Cambodia, Colombia, Kenya, Romani and Portugal) between 17th and 22nd April 2024. The best 24 teams out of the regions will qualify for the final rounds in Geneva, which will take place in June 2024.
A total of 15 teams from Africa are participating with representation coming from countries like So the countries include: Nigeria, South Africa, Botswana, Somalia, Kenya and Uganda. The African regional rounds are taking place in Nakuru, Kenya. Names of finalists will be released on 12th May 2024.
The School of Law is being represented by Harry Kwikiriza LLB3, Marvin Murungi LLB2 and Samantha Mwesigye LLB2, and we expect our students to interact and network with international trade law experts.
