The School of Law (SoL), Uganda Christian University (UCU) will on the 11th day of July 2023 (Tuesday), host its alumni of the graduating class 2021/2022 of the Law Development Centre (LDC) in a thanksgiving service. This ceremony will be taking place at Nkoyoyo Hall, during the slated community worship on that day, starting at midday (12:00pm).
Cerebrations of our alumni follow the recently released LDC results and the just concluded graduation ceremonies for Kampala, Lira and Mbarara campuses for the Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice where our very own excelled and emerged the best.
On the 31st day of March 2023, LDC released the results for the academic year 2021/2022 for the Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. The results list also contained names of twenty (20) lawyers who had qualified for the Director’s Award after having attained first class distinctions.
Ten (10) of these lawyers were alumni of the SoL, UCU and they include Okia Emmanuel (4.90), Kitimbo Shamira (4.80), Ahumuza Reagan (4.75), Jemimah Jehopio (4.70), Bwambale Victor Stephen (4.60), Ayesiga Job Ernest (4.55), Odiye Samuel (4.50), Namagembe Josephine Jojo (4.40), Uwizeye Martha (4.40) and Kwagala Mercy Edith (4.50). The numbers in brackets reflect the Cumulative Grade Point Average of our alumni.
At the 50th graduation ceremony, Jehopio particularly scooped three (3) awards (The Director’s Award, Agaba Muhairwe Prize and the Inspector General of Government).
In order to honour our alumni, the SoL together with the university at large will be hosting a “Thanksgiving Service” for all our alumni from all the different campuses that excelled at LDC. The ceremony will followed by a special lunch with our alumni.
The community within UCU and beyond is invited to be part of this ceremony as we celebrate this milestone together. We encourage our alumni to confirm attendance to the ceremony by sending an email to the organisers via the email sol@ucu.ac.ug as soon as possible to facilitate the organisation process.
